Put on the Armor of God

Equip yourself daily with the full armor of God to stand firm against spiritual attacks.

Scripture: Ephesians 6:13 - "For this reason take up the full armor of God, so that you may be able to resist in the evil day, and having prepared everything, to take your stand."

Next Step: Each morning, take a moment to pray through each piece of the armor (belt of truth, breastplate of righteousness, etc.) and ask God to help you embody these qualities throughout your day.

Pain Points:"Put on the Armor of God"

1. Spiritual Vulnerability:

Many women experience a deep sense of spiritual vulnerability, feeling exposed to the challenges of life such as doubt, fear, and anxiety. This vulnerability can manifest when they encounter difficult circumstances, leading to feelings of helplessness. Without the protection of the armor of God, they may find it difficult to resist negative thoughts and external pressures, which can erode their confidence and faith, leaving them feeling inadequate and overwhelmed by life’s demands.

2. Lack of Daily Discipline:

In the hustle and bustle of daily life, establishing a consistent prayer routine can be a significant challenge. Women often struggle to prioritize their spiritual practices, resulting in a lack of discipline in putting on the armor of God each day. This neglect can lead to feelings of disconnect from God and an unpreparedness to face the trials of life. As a result, they may feel spiritually stagnant, lacking the strength and resilience needed to navigate their challenges effectively.

3. Isolation in Struggles:

Feeling isolated during spiritual battles can be a profound pain point for many women. They may believe that their struggles are unique and that they are alone in facing spiritual attacks. This sense of isolation can create a barrier to seeking support and encouragement from others, leading to a disconnection from both God and the community. Without the fellowship and shared experiences of other believers, women may become discouraged and lose sight of their identity and strength in Christ, making it harder to seek and embody the qualities represented by the armor of God.

Strategic Prayer Points to combat the spiritual pain points

  1. Prayer for Spiritual Strength and Confidence:

    1. Strategic Prayer Point: Pray for the strength to resist doubt, fear, and anxiety, asking God to bolster your confidence in His promises.

    2. Scripture: Philippians 4:13 - "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."

    3. Prayer: "Lord, help me to remember that my strength comes from You. Equip me with the confidence to stand firm against doubt and fear, knowing that I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."

  2. Prayer for Discipline in Spiritual Practices:

    1. Strategic Prayer Point: Seek God's guidance in establishing a consistent prayer and devotion routine, asking for the discipline to put on the armor of God daily.

    2. Scripture: 1 Timothy 4:7 - "Discipline yourself for the purpose of godliness."

    3. Prayer: "Heavenly Father, grant me the discipline to prioritize my time with You. Help me to cultivate a daily practice of prayer and reflection, so I can fully equip myself with Your armor and grow in godliness."

  3. Prayer for Community and Connection:

    1. Strategic Prayer Point: Pray for the courage to seek support and build connections with others, fostering a sense of community in the faith journey.

    2. Scripture: Hebrews 10:24-25 - "And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another."

    3. Prayer: "Lord, I ask for Your guidance in finding and connecting with a supportive community of believers. Help me to reach out and build relationships that encourage love and good works, so I can stand firm in my faith alongside others."

Next Steps

Practical steps to combat vulnerability, lack of daily discipline, and isolation, both spiritually and physically.

  1. Combating Spiritual Vulnerability:

    1. Spiritual Steps:

      1. - Daily Affirmations: Start each day by affirming your identity in Christ. Use scripture such as Psalm 139:14, "I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made," to remind yourself of your worth and strength.

      2. - Meditative Prayer: Engage in meditative prayer focused on surrendering fears and anxieties to God. Spend time in silence, allowing God to speak to your heart and reinforce His presence in your life.

    2. Physical Steps:

      1. - Journaling: Keep a journal to document your fears and challenges. Write down how you see God working in those situations, which can help shift your perspective and build resilience.

      2. - Mindfulness Practices: Incorporate mindfulness practices such as deep breathing or yoga that can help alleviate anxiety and promote a sense of peace and grounding.

2.    Combating Lack of Daily Discipline:

a.   Spiritual Steps:

i.   - Scheduled Prayer Time: Set a specific time each day dedicated to prayer and reading scripture. Treat it as an important appointment that you cannot miss.

ii.   - Armor of God Checklist: Create a checklist of the armor of God pieces (Ephesians 6:13-17) and incorporate a brief prayer for each piece in your morning routine.

b.   Physical Steps:

i.   - Visual Reminders: Place visual reminders in your home or workspace (like sticky notes) with scriptures or affirmations. This can help prompt you to prioritize your spiritual practices throughout the day.

ii.   - Accountability Partner: Find a friend or mentor who shares your faith and can hold you accountable for maintaining your daily spiritual discipline. Schedule regular check-ins to discuss your progress.

3.   Combating Isolation in Struggles:

a.   Spiritual Steps:

i.   - Join a Small Group: Seek out a small group or prayer circle within your church or community where you can share your struggles and pray for one another. Being part of a community fosters connection and support.

ii.   - Volunteer for Ministry: Engage in ministry work that allows you to connect with others. Serving can create bonds and help you realize you’re not alone in your struggles.

b.   Physical Steps:

i.   - Social Activities: Attend social events or gatherings within your church or community to meet new people and build relationships. Initiate conversations and be open about your spiritual journey.

ii.   - Reach Out: Make a conscious effort to reach out to friends or family members who share your faith. Schedule regular coffee dates or phone calls to discuss your spiritual journeys and support each other.
